With so many activities available on the internet, it can be hard to decide which ones are right for you and for your kids.
Is it too hard?
Is it too easy?
Is the theme engaging?
Is it easy to prepare?
Does it have 32 million small pieces that I have to cut out?
So many valid questions to ask when you are evaluating an activity.
And that's why scrolling through Pinterest can be so overwhelming.
For the next 10 days, I am going to share a series of e-mails with you that will take the sting out of searching for activities. I'll be going skill by skill and sharing activities with you that are not only SUPER easy to prepare, but crazy easy to
differentiate.
And fun. Definitely fun.
Take a look at what I'll be sharing:
Day 1- Alphabet
Day 2- Number Recognition
Day 3- STEM Activities
Day 4- Fine Motor and Gross Motor
Day 5- Counting
Day 6- Beginning Reading
Day 7- Addition and Subtraction
Day 8- Patterns
Day 9- Shapes
Day 10- MeasurementFrom Preschool to Kindergarten to Early Elementary these skills are repeated over and over for the purpose of mastery, so many times the same activities can be used in multiple grade levels with just a few tweaks or using the different levels included in the activity.
For instance, we definitely teach the alphabet in
preschool and kindergarten, but we also use the alphabet to learn the basics of alphabetical order in 1st and 2nd grade. Or perfecting letter formation. And learning about all the letter combinations needed to make words.
So while most 1st graders can recognize the letters of the alphabet, some alphabet activities can be used for teaching higher skills.
Without further ado, here is a sample of our best alphabet activities! Teacher tested and approved!
